Devon A-Z

It was the start of autumn 2013 and, having completed the Year in Beer, I was in search of a new challenge for the food and drink side of this blog. And I decided to stay local, focussing on the great food and drink available here in Devon.

I asked for ideas and you suggested an A-Z of Devon food and drink. Not one to shy away from a challenge, I embraced the suggestion and embarked on a bid to eat and drink my way through the alphabet. You can read the rules that I set for the challenge at the foot of this page.

Thank you to everyone who suggested Devon food or drink producers, events or eateries that I should try through the comments below.

The rules

I made up a few rules for the challenge.

  1. The challenge should last (roughly) a year, and should finish in autumn 2014
  2. The A-Z is based on the producer’s name, not the name of the individual products
  3. There can be more than one entry under any letter
  4. Rule suggestion from Mrs Running Buffet: Seasonal produce should be tried in season wherever possible

  2. Ooh great challenge I will watch this closely being a local and all! If I see something you might like to try will drop you a line. Joshua’s in Ottery might make something you could use, also solving a tricky letter.

    • Thank you. Suggestions and recommendations are always welcome, particularly for the trickier letters. I will definitely check out Joshua’s.

You don’t know any starting with a Z do you…?
